A badly depleted 16 man Arrows squad fought valiantly but fell to their fourth defeat of the season losing 44-6 to the countries number 2
ranked team East Kilbride Pirates on Sunday.
In an almost identical game to the teams first encounter 3 weeks previously, the Pirates ran up scores easily in the first half to take a
commanding 38-0 lead at the half. The Arrows having to play many players out of position due to their small squad could not handle the Pirates powerful rushing game which finally forced the
Arrows to commit too many to the line of scrimmage, leaving the secondary open to the pass.
The Arrows however responded well in the second half putting together several good drives culminating in Anthony Perkins 3 yard rush. The
Pirates scored again in the fourth to finish the scoring with a 44-6 win.
Despite the score-line, the game was an excellent example of British American Football, played in an excellent sporting manner which was a
credit to both teams who earned each others respect on the day.
