The Redditch Arrows fell to their 4th defeat of the season in losing to Bristol Aztecs 33-14 on Sunday.
The Arrows started game in disastrous fashion. After their first drive was stopped by Bristol, the Aztecs first offensive play saw
them go in a 35 yards run for a 7-0 lead. The Arrows on the ensuing deepened their problems when on the kick-off return they allowed Bristol to strip the ball from the Arrows returner for
another score and a 14-0 lead. At this stage the Aztecs were well on top and following another Arrows punt the visitors drove down the field and found the end-zone again for a commanding
first quarter 21-0 lead.
The second quarter saw the Arrows start to come back in the game both on offense and defense but Bristol again provided the only scoring of
the half with a 7 yard run to give them a 27-0 half time lead.
The second half started with a revitalised Arrows at last beginning to cause the Aztecs some problems. A 15 yard Anthony
Perkins run coupled with a 2 point PAT from Stuart McNeil saw the Arrows get their first points on the board at 8-27. Bristol however were not be denied and a 10 yard run re-established the
margin of their lead to 33-8. The Arrows then produced the play of the game when Perkins went in for his second score on a 25 yard reverse to reduce the lead to 33-14.
