The Redditch Arrows defeated a depleted Plymouth Admirals side on Sunday 28-12 to bring their record to the season to 4 wins and 5
losses.
The Arrows started brightly and a 63 yard opening drive culminated when Alan Harris went in from 1 yard for an early 7-0 lead. This first
quarter saw the Arrows well on top with its offense moving the ball with some consistency and the defense stopping the Admirals from making any real headway,. This was rewarded when the
Arrows put together another long drive finishing with a Dave Stanton 20 yard pass to James Kilby for a commanding 14-0 first quarter lead.
Plymouth came back into the game in the second quarter. The Arrows going away from the basic football that had been so successful in the
first quarter began to have more difficulty in moving the ball and allowed Plymouth to get a foothold in the game. They could not however take advantage in this turn of fortune and the first
half finished at 14-0 to the home team.
The third quarter again saw the Arrows driving down field. This was suddenly halted when the Admirals Frederick Walker stripped the ball
form the Arrows RB and returned it untouched 50 yards to reduce the deficit to 14-6.
The Arrows, know knew they had a game on their hands and stepped up the pressure in the fourth quarter. This was rewarded when Toby Rhodes
went in from 2 yards to give the home team a 20-6 lead and this was increased when Anthony Perkins went on a dazzling 29 yard run to give the Arrows a commanding 28-6 lead.
Plymouth never say die attitude was rewarded late in the game when Walker scored his second touchdown of the game when he
went in on a 30 yard run to finish the scoring at 28-12.
