The Arrows opened their 2004 season witha comprehensive 26-7 victory against last years Bowl Finalists in apre-season match up at Kings
Norton.
In a defensive first quarter the Arrows penned the Notts offense into their own half. With both teams failing to move the ball with any
real consistency the Arrows appeared to have the upper edge and maintained field position.
The second qtr saw the Arrows take control of the game. Anthony Perkins broke free and went in from 39 yards to the Arrows 6-0 up. This
lead was almost increased when later int he Qtr the Arrows agian crossed the goal line on a Dave Mills 25 yard run only to have it called back for holding by Ron Gifford. The veteran Arrows
player however made amends on the next play when he coupled up to a Dave Stanton pass for a 30 yard reception and a 12-0 half time lead.
The second half saw Nottinham try to get back into the game and their efforts were finally rewarded when they completed an 8 yard pass to
bring the score to 12-7.
The Arrows responded to this setback and stepped up teh pressure on the Notts defense. This culminated in Rusell Morey scoring his first
ever touchdown for the club on an 8yd pass from Stanton. Jonathan Riddell playing in his first ever game came on and kicked the extra point for a 19-7 Arrows lead.
The Arrows wrapped up the game late in the fourth qtr when the Arrows defense forced the Caesors QB to fumble the ball which Will Slimming
recovered in the end zone to finish the scoring.
