On a wet afternoon in Cardiff the Redditch Arrows hopes on building on their victory over Andover were ruined in a 22-0 lost to
the South Wales Warriors. The Warriors who going into the game undefeated now extend their record for the season to 4-0 whilst the Arrows drop to 1-3.
The opening exchanges of the game saw both teams struggle to move the ball. The Arrows managed to keep S Wales pinned into their
own half for the majority of the first half with field position being dictated by both teams kicking.
Just as it looked that the first half would end scoreless, a combination of the Warriors offense finally showing its ability and
the Arrows defense loss of concentration saw South Wales snatch a late lead. A 28 yard pass coupled with a 25 yard run set the home team on the Arrows 8 yard line. A quarterback roll out by Warriors
QB Lance Godfrey saw him make the end zone which coupled with a successful 2pont PAT give the home team an 8-0 half time lead.
The third quarter started very similar to the first half with both defenses on top. The Arrows finally got some momentum going
and at the end of the third quarter had the ball on the Warriors 3 yard line with 1st and goal. In what we be the defining plays of the game , the Warriors defense held strong and held the
Arrows on 4 plays for no gain.
With time now becoming a factor, the Warriors marched up the field and doubled their lead on a 1 yard run for a commanding 16-0
lead.
The Arrows were now desperately trying anything to open up the Warriors defense which ahs yet to concede a point this season.
Unfortunately an Arrows fumble was recovered by the Warriors for a 25 yard TD return and the final 22-0 result.
