The Redditch Arrows slumped to their fourth defeat of the season in a 12-2 home loss to top of the table South Wales
Warriors on Sunday.
The Arrows going into the game on the back of a win over Plymouth held the Warriors scoreless for the first quarter.
In a defensive battle neither team presented much in the way of an offensive showing and in effect cancelled each other out.
The second quarter saw the visitors come to life. Their best of drive of the game saw them reach deep into the
Arrows half. The Arrows showing signs of frustration gave away a 15yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty which left the Warriors on the Arrows 6 yard line. Strong running from South Wales
running backs soon opened up the Arrows defense for the 6-0 lead on a 6yard run.
The Arrows tried to respond but could not muster enough consistency on offense to trouble their visitors. South
Wales capitalised on this and again drove down the field and extended their lead to 12-0 on a 2 yard run.
The Arrows eventually managed to get back into the game when following a 70 yard punt from Matt Gavin, the Warriors
were forced to start on their own 2 yard line. The Arrows defense seizing the opportunity managed to sack the South Wales QB in the endzone on a Adam O'Reilly sack for a safety and reduce the
deficit to 12-2 at the half.
The second half was a dour affair with both defenses on top and with neither offense making any real inroads. It was
no surprise that no further scoring occurred to leave the final result 12-2 to the Warriors.
