1995 saw the Arrows back to Championship form the team registering 7 wins and 1 defeat in a shortened 8 game season. On paper this looks like it was an
easy season however the reality was that this was probably the most competitive season ever with nearly every game going down to the final whistle. The game at Mersey was typical of this, the Arrows
found themselves 12-0 down at half time, staged a second half recovery to lead 19-12 and then have to rely on defence to hold on with Mersey inside the Arrows 20yd line as time expired. Most of the other
games saw similar situations with the Arrows providing their opponents with early leads only to fight back and snatch victory. The only exceptions to this were the two games against Manchester where
the Arrows were always in control and gained comfortable wins. The playoffs saw the Arrows go to Wales to play the undefeated Gwent Mustangs and in a fierce physical game the Mustangs won mainly due
to a very powerful running game which the Arrows failed to control.
