The title was actually won at Leicester where the Arrows win coupled with Gwent's unexpected loss to Carterton saw the Arrows
second successive championship. The final regular season game at Gwent saw maybe the Arrows best ever performance. Before the game the team was determined to obtain the 10-0 perfect season and gain
revenge for the play-off defeat the previous season. The Arrows were far too strong for a dispirited Mustangs side and ran out easy 26-0 winners.
The play-offs saw the Arrows have home field advantage throughout the playoffs for the first ever time. This allowed them to
obtain wins over Mersey and Chester in very defensive games to reach their second national Final. They say that lighting doesn't strike the same place twice - it does!. The Arrows came up against
possibly the best prepared and drilled team they had ever faced, Winchester Rifles, and despite the Arrows valiant attempts to stay in touch lost 48-0.
The beginning of 1996 was marred by the sad news that Paul Hardwick who had played for the club in its early seasons had died
following a long illness. As a mark of respect the club dedicated the season to him and retired his playing number 32.
