2002 prove to be a frustrating season for the Arrows. Faced with the loss of almost 40% of the previous years squad, the Arrows were forced to field in
excess of 10 rookies , several of whom had to play both ways despite their inexperience. This coupled with the biggest injury list the club had ever suffered saw the Arrows post a no wins and one tie
record and finish at the bottom of the table.
Despite this disappointment the Arrows did earn a lot of respect from their opponents especially from East Kilbride for taking on the Scottish
giants with only a 16 man squad.
The game of the season was the 15-15 tie with Chester in which the Arrows almost pulled off an upset only to lose the advantage on almost the last play
of the game.
The real highlight of the season however, was the performance of the new players who proved that they could hold their own at the top level and should
provide teh platform on which the rebuilding of the team will take place.
Off the field the club had a very successful season culminating in obtaining a major 'Awards for All' grant which has allowed it to purchase not a new
set of shirts but also a significant number of helmets and shoulder pads which will be used to help new players into the sport.
