On Sunday 17th June the Redditch Arrows welcomed Jayne Kavanagh as
guest of honour for their home match verses the Chester Romans. Jayne has recently been appointed as a trustee for the local Redditch arts organization "Indigo Arts"
(www.indigoarts.org.uk) This is a charitable organistation set up to deliver accessible arts provision and resources to the local community, and currently runs weekly workshops in a
range of performing arts disciplines with young people aged between 4 - 25 from a wide variety of backgrounds & abilities.
As the Community Rep Jayne has been working on ideas to raise
much needed funds for the organisation, and this year they have set their sites on a Sports Auction.
Jayne contacted Arrows treasurer Toby Rhodes, through the
association that the Arrows have developed with the National Blood Service during the 2006 season "As treasurer of the Arrows, I know how difficult it can be to raise money for your
organisation. Last year we helped to publicise the need to give blood at all of our matches, this year it is nice to give something to help the local community. We are very similar in
that both organisations are set up to give people an avenue to express themselves;
whether it be through the stage or sporting arena. I hope that our donation and support of Indigo Arts will enable them to acheive their goal for this year."
Jayne is pictured being presented with a new official
Wilson "Get into American Football" match ball, prior to the Arrows 41 - 0 victory.
